Steven was born in Salina, Kansas, to a career
military father and a nurse mother. After living in
Puerto Rico and Wichita Falls, Texas, Steven's
father retired from the United States Air Force and
relocated the family to Davis, Oklahoma, where
Steven graduated high school.
After attending several colleges and not finding his
interest, Steven followed in the steps of his father
and joined the United States Air Force. As a law
Enforcement Specialist, he was assigned to Royal
Air Force Base Alconbury, England, for four years.
After breaking his neck in the line of duty, Steven
was discharged from military service as a disabled
veteran.
He joined the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Police
Department as a police officer and was quickly
promoted to Field Training Officer and then
Sergeant. While attending Northeastern Oklahoma
State University where he earned his bachelor of
science degree, he worked as a SWAT team
member and trainer.
After eight years with the police department, Steven
was hired as a Deputy U.S. Marshal before joining
the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office as an
investigator.
In 2007, his first novel, Guardian of Light, was
published and thrust him into the world of writing.
Through his writing career, he has been fortunate to
teach classes on writing and the police procedure.
He was honored to be voted as the Vice President of
the American Christian Fiction Writers Association's
Tulsa chapter of Writers of Inspirational Novels.
He and his beautiful wife, Cynthia, are the proud
parents of two grown children and a grandson. They
still make their home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
